Available to Tasmanian Members
The TPS provides an opportunity for Tasmanian members to sell their surplus material and/or purchase items at very reasonable prices though the Exchange Branch.

Members are allocated to a "circuit" of 8 to 10, with currently 5 circuits operating in Hobart and surrounding areas and one in Launceston.
There is a wide variety of exchange items - stamps in singles and sets, covers of various types, postmarks etc, mounted on A4 sheets as supplied by members and some non-members.
The Exchange Branch Superintendent assembles sheets into "books" (ring Binders), containing on average about 120 sheets, with normally two binders at a time sent to a circuit. Prices are set by the vendors but are most commonly about 1/3 to 1/2 catalogue price.
The target is to send books to each circuit about every 6 to 8 weeks, but this is dependant on the supply of sheets by vendors and prompt passing on of books by circuit members.
The Stamp Place, Collins St, Hobart, is a focal point for the pick-up and return of exchange books.
