30/9 New web site additions

New links and articles are regularly being added to the site. The Links Page has been expanded to now include links to web sites covering other Australian States, TPS members who are also dealers, and sites containing useful Tasmanian content.

Likewise the list of articles about Tasmanian Philately and related subjects has been expanded. The article by John Shepherd on Tasmanian stamps is the first in a series of over view articles on aspects of Tasmanian Philately.

30/9 Library up-grade project - progress.

Some 100 titles have now been catalogued and posted on the Library Catalogue. These books are held at the Tasmanian Stamp Auctions premises, see below . TPS members are welcome to visit to borrow or read books. Current auction catalogues and a number of Journals are also available for members to read. The remainder of the TPS Library is still held at the Club Rooms and available at Monthly meetings.

Services for members - 2008

TPS is improving services for members during the first half of 2008. New facilities include:

  • -The purchase of a sophisticated Watermark detector,
  • -Ultra violet lamps, and
  • -Additions to the Library
  • -Improved access to these facilities.

Access by members to the most popular Library books and new equipment has been provided at the Premises of Tasmanian Stamp Auctions, First Floor, 20 Watchorn St, Hobart.TSA is usually open from Mon to Fri 9.30 until 1.00, then 2 to 4, then 5 to 7.
