The money collected by the post office was retained by to pay the cost involved for the additional service. In my opinion, there is no difference bet...

OS PERFINS - THE MISSING HOLE in O VARIETY

I presently have a horizontal pair of ½d Pictorials, both stamps with both stamps having the "missing hole in O" variety. I sold another pair a couple of years ago that I will also post an image of to this topic as soon as I can find it. z1927.jpg The stamp is the sideways V over Crown watermarked i...

PAID AT ST HELENS / 17JA 2002 / TAS-AUST

N.B. although the second digit in the "year" is indistinct I'll call it a zero.
I think this is the only "TAS-AUST" steel datestamp that I have seen with
the year in full!

Scarcer Circular Datestamps on Pre-Pictorial Issues

Interest has been increasing in collecting the scarcer circular datestamps on stamps issued prior to the Pictorial Series of 1899/1912. There are many rarities, resulting from the required procedure (from 1861 through to 1900) of cancelling stamps with a barred numeral obliterator and applying the p...

MODERN POSTMARKS - "SPECIAL" TYPES
